Feature

v1.8 – New look, your own inspection rhythm, treatments with a clamp

  • New look "clear": the start page shows key figures as their own cards, plus tasks, season checklist, flight weather and "last visited" — empty widgets disappear, the quick access to inspection, walk-through and photo stays put. Calendar (with a jump to today), tasks, notifications, record book, finances, inventory, batches, forage network, map, swarm risk, AI assistant and device list follow the same style; on the phone the settings tabs carry labels again instead of icon riddles.
  • Inspection rhythm to match your operation: in the settings you set, per season, after how many days a colony counts as overdue — the traffic light, start page, tasks and AI recommendations use your values instead of fixed days.
  • Treatments: caging brings a suggested end date and a reminder to release, and the brood interruption counts as an inspection contact. New types: brood pause, partial brood removal and heat treatment; biotechnical measures can be kept out of the record book. "Not specified" now really arrives, and a treatment cannot be deleted while a harvest sits in its withdrawal period. MiniPlus is selectable as a hive type.
  • Harvest readiness: the AI assistant estimates which colonies are ready to harvest, and the harvests page points it out. The harvest search also finds entries that were not loaded yet.
  • Account: "Reset all data" in the settings clears your stock with 14 days to undo — the record book stays, as the law requires. If you only sign in with Google, you can request the recovery email again.
  • Language and numbers: server error messages arrive in your language, decimals use the locale separator, entered values and names are never cut off anymore, and empty lists say why they are empty. Exports — inspection CSV, data disclosure, batch PDF, income statement — write what the screen shows and name the origin of an entry.
  • Usability: every touch target at least 48 px, a visible focus ring, sufficient contrast, the language can be switched on narrow screens too, the menu opens reliably again, and the footer knows three more destinations.
  • Notifications and sensors: the push toggle only shows "Active" once something really arrives; the notification email follows the same rules as the app. Sensor charts ask the server instead of guessing, the 730-day limit says so, and coordinates lead where they point.
  • Inspections and harvests: a rating can be withdrawn, no readings are invented anymore and nothing is released silently; quarantine reopens on a renewed suspicion. The photo button in the inspection carries its label.
  • Beta over, a start bonus for everyone: the Free plan now covers up to 10 colonies and 3 apiaries. Every new account gets one month of Plus for free, and accounts that already existed got six once (voice capture, walk-through, AI chat, exports) – no credit card, no countdown; the end date is shown once in the subscription settings. The plans are now called Free, Plus and Pro. Free now also includes AI recommendations, swarm risk, regional statistics, the animal disease fund report and one public honey page; the quotas: AI chat 5 questions a day, voice input 3 a day, voice walk-through 2 a month, record book PDF 3 a month (6 a year), single PDFs 2 a month, one club.

v1.7 – Nothing gets lost anymore, numbers add up, record book complete

  • Quick check: if an inspection was lost while swiping on, the app still reported "completed". Now all open cards are saved on completion, and on an error the view jumps back to the affected card.
  • Offline at the apiary: signing out silently discarded queued entries — the warning sat on only one of six sign-out buttons, now on all of them. The queue keeps trying for about a quarter of an hour instead of two and a half minutes.
  • The message "could not be synced" is no longer a dead end: it now leads straight to the affected entries — on desktop too.
  • Voice recordings: a restored recording could be truncated without saying so — if a piece is missing, it now says so. "Draft saved" only appears for fields that actually end up in the draft.
  • Record book: the compliance check now reads all treatments instead of the first 500. The vet report names the date of its assessment, and the percentage on the compliance page says what it is calculated over.
  • Numbers without a silent limit: the chat no longer invents a total above 500 entries, lists tell you when a limit was hit, and the yearly chart no longer ends unnoticed after two years.
  • Faster and tighter: the dashboard loads noticeably faster, the weather service no longer blocks page rendering, and the public QR lookup of a hive no longer reveals the owner's user ID.
  • The attention traffic light of your colonies now rates the same everywhere — hive list, dashboard and detail page use one set of rules. Red now means one thing: act (quarantine, queenless, swarm cells, varroa above the seasonal threshold, overdue mandatory treatment). Yellow shows an overdue inspection, a rising varroa load, a queen aged three years or more, a weak colony or, in winter, the reminder for the oxalic acid treatment — the deadline follows your inspection intervals from the settings. Dead, sold, lost or merged colonies are no longer counted.

v1.6 – Apiary plan, honest numbers, cleaner speech

  • You can now arrange your colonies freely — drag the hive symbols to where the boxes actually stand. Either on a photo of your apiary or on the plain surface. Fixed along the way: beyond six colonies the symbols sat exactly on top of each other, so part of your stock simply was not visible.
  • The varroa treatment plan now uses your measured counts. Previously it was based on a hard-coded infestation value, proposing dates that had nothing to do with your colonies. The infestation alert is also time-normalised now — a jump over a few days is no longer weighed like a jump over weeks.
  • Voice capture listens more precisely: a negation no longer overwrites a stated mite count, feed types are matched at word boundaries rather than inside arbitrary word fragments, and pausing a recording keeps your position instead of jumping back.
  • Honey analysis and tax export are more honest: a missing conductivity reading is no longer counted as blossom honey, and the type labels in the EUER/DATEV export come from one source instead of a branch that quietly picked the wrong one.
  • Notifications and sensor alerts line up again: filters apply even without paging, and the cooldown between two alerts is the one shown to you.
  • ZaDant is selectable as a hive format — voice capture knows the term now too.
  • Smaller fixes: the rearing planner keeps counting correctly across midnight, queens no longer show their status twice, chart axes run consistently on calendar days, swarm risk is calculated for all colonies instead of only the first 500, the barcode scanner explains clearly why it cannot run, and the column picker is keyboard-operable.
  • Anonymous reach measurement now runs on legitimate interest rather than consent — it stores nothing on your device. You may object at any time: cookie banner or the footer link ‘Cookie Settings’, set the category to ‘off’.

v1.5 – Breeding lines, automation and security

  • Queens now carry breeding line and parentage as proper fields instead of buried notes. The line shows directly in the list — in a breeding stock where every animal shares the same race, that is what actually tells them apart. Plus an optional name per queen.
  • In the treatment record, clicking a row takes you straight to the treatment. Barcode scanning opens the camera reliably, tells you when the device cannot do it, and reads the result out loud.
  • Recorded varroa counts create a treatment task on their own, and a lapsing quarantine reminds you without being asked. A lost colony can be reported straight from the colony menu.
  • Syrup feedings show the pure sugar share, the feeding search also matches colony and note, and bottling and calendar now count by calendar day rather than clock time — no entry slips into the previous day.
  • Security updates for sign-in, two-factor confirmation hardened against replayed codes, and export endpoints throttled against bulk retrieval.
  • The location map is readable for screen readers, the bottom navigation sits centred on narrow and half-width displays, and milestone messages appear when you actually cross the mark rather than on reload.
  • More power behind the scenes: the server running HiveKraft has been upgraded. That creates headroom for larger operations, faster reports, and whatever comes next.

v1.4 – Record Book, Offline Mode and Readability

  • Reworked the EU 2019/6 record book: exports now write plain labels instead of internal keys, follow your language, mark removed colonies and flag later corrections as such. The PDF export honours the apiary filter you set.
  • Work continues without a connection: the app tells you when the network is gone and submits your entries once you are back online. If saving takes unusually long, you hear about that too.
  • Filters and search survive a trip into the detail view — going back no longer means setting everything up again.
  • Larger type and stronger contrast throughout the app, in both light and dark mode. Controls are sized for gloved hands, and chart axes are legible again.
  • Varroa counts can be entered straight from an inspection, the calendar marks unconfirmed entries, and bottling speaks up when your jars hold more than the harvest does.

  • New varroa triage: treatment threshold reached (≥10 mites/day summer, ≥3 autumn, ≥5 spring) now triggers 'urgent' — previously required exceeding it. Aligns with EU 2019/6 'threshold reached = act'.
  • **Heads-up for existing users:** If your last varroa measurement was exactly at the threshold, it now shows as 'urgent' — please review treatment. Reach out if your season/method should be evaluated differently.
  • New settings toggle 'Threshold profile' (Standard | FiBL-strict) — Pro users can enable stricter winter thresholds (FiBL Treatment Concept 2023).
  • Dashboard, hive card and varroa overview now use unified thresholds — no more conflicting alerts across views.
