What it can do

  • Dictate an inspection for one colony: strength, queen, eggs, food and observations.
  • Record a voice round across a whole apiary in one go, with pauses and colony markers.
  • Show the recognised details as filled-in fields; nothing is saved until you confirm.

Step by step

  1. Open an inspectionAt the apiary, choose the colony and open the inspection, or start the round for several colonies.
  2. Tap the microphone and speakFor example: “Colony 3, strong brood, queen seen, one swarm cell broken.” In a round, colony markers separate the colonies.
  3. Review and saveHiveKraft pre-fills the fields. You correct what is wrong and save.

Limits

  • Voice input for a single colony needs a connection; without one you tap through the quick check.
  • The voice round also records without a connection; the recording waits on your phone and is processed once you have reception.
  • One recording lasts at most 30 minutes.
  • Dictated content only counts after you confirm it, in analyses as in the record book.

Where your data goes

Voice input is an AI feature. It runs only with your consent, and you can switch it off in settings at any time.

  1. Audio to AssemblyAI

Audio and the names of your active colonies and your apiaries · US company, EU endpoint; US access cannot be ruled out · For voice input, rounds and dictation buttons.

    More

A retention period of one hour is set for our account (provider confirmation of 1 June 2026). Deletion then begins; according to the provider, completion may be delayed by hours to days.

  2. Transcript to Anthropic

Voice input transcript; for a round, colony numbers and names and, per colony, hive type, last inspection and treatment · Including USA and other countries · Then for structured analysis

  3. With us

Audio files from voice input are automatically deleted on our server after successful processing. Confirmed entries stay in your hive records.

Audio recordings are sent to AssemblyAI (US company, EU endpoint; basis: EU-US Data Privacy Framework, see §8.6) for transcription, together with the names of your active colonies and apiaries to aid recognition. The transcript is sent for content analysis to Anthropic, for a round together with the numbers and names of your active colonies and, for each recognised colony, its hive type, last inspection and last treatment (processing also in the USA and other countries, see §8.7).
You can revoke your consent at any time in the settings.
Browser provider (Google or Apple): Audio during fallback dictation · USA · For dictation buttons when AssemblyAI is unavailable
