Drone Laying Workers (Bullet Brood)

Bullet brood occurs when laying workers in a queenless colony deposit unfertilized eggs that develop into drones. These drones are raised in worker cells, causing the cappings to bulge outward in a characteristic pattern. Bullet brood is a definitive sign of queenlessness requiring immediate intervention.
