Best Before Date (BBD)

The best before date indicates until when honey retains its typical properties when stored properly. For honey, a BBD of 2 years from bottling is standard, although honey stored in cool, dark conditions is virtually indefinitely shelf-stable. The BBD is legally required on the label.
